Moviesandfood Home Cooked St. Paddy's Day Meal
So I posted this on Instagram on St. Paddy’s day but didn’t really give a review. Made by yours truly, I’m sure to no ones surprise it was a 10! Was I also the one grading it? Irrelevant. I cook, I eat, I review, the kids a triple threat what can’t he do? But in all honestly, Corned Beef and Cabbage accompanied by a few Guinness’s is always a 10 on St. Paddy’s Day. Corned beef and cabbage is a meal I really only have once a year but that makes it even better.
I know you’re all going to be looking for my secret recipe here but you won’t get it. Because we all know the first rule about having a secret recipe is not talking about it. And I DO have a secret recipe… I will give some advice though; like blogging, life in the kitchen is a grind. I didn’t just become a master chef overnight; it took me a full year to learn this recipe! (And by full year I mean I made it last St. Paddy’s Day, fucked it up, and then tried again this year). You gotta mix and match ingredients, find out what works, what doesn’t. Who’s eating the meal? Are they vegetarians? Gluten free? Because if they are they are getting kicked the fuck out of M&F HQ!
Being Top Chef may sound glamorous but I’m telling you its hard work. Especially on St. Paddy’s Day when Irish Car Bombs are being served as appetizers four hours before the meal is even served. But I guess that would be my second piece of advise, the drunker you are, the better things taste, so get your guests drunk if you want good reviews. Inebriation Inflation! But all in all it was probably the best corned beef and cabbage I’ve ever had. Maybe the best meal I ever had! Tip of the hat to the chef…

Bahama Breeze
Nashua, NH
This was my first time ever inside the exclusive Bahama Breeze Restaraunt. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m so happy that I waited out so long. Because over the weekend I was blessed enough to have an DELICIOUS meal when I was anticipating a mediocre meal.
First off, the environment is awesome. The Caribbean feel is something I’m into and it’s a culture I respect. My Tavern Wench and I went during the afternoon so there were a few little kids balling their eyes out. And you know what? Didn’t bother me at all because of all the open room in the restaurant. It’s little things like that that can get you into Hutch’s Hall of Fame. I look forward to checking this place out once the warmer weather hits too as it offers ample outdoor seating. And boy do I love outdoor seating on a warm sunny Bahama day.
As for the food. The menu was fan-fucking-tastic. I think I was on page 4 and it was still all cocktails. I felt like a little kid I was so excited. When I finally waded my way through all the yummy concoctions and got to the food, I pitched a pants tent, I’m not gonna lie. From beginning to end the menu was filled with worthy candidates to be devoured by me. I was juggling four different plates before I finally made my order. I decided to go seafood and pasta because I had a decent amount of beef the day before. Gotta keep the body guessing, it's the only way to get better. I went with the Lobster and Shrimp Linguini. Large chunks of Lobster with sauteed mushrooms and shrimp doused in a Lobster brandy cream sauce. Washed down by a dark and Stormy, it made for a near perfect lunch..

Buono Bistro
North Andover, MA
I started my morning off by stuffing my face, so I thought it was my fitting that I ended my day by doing the exact same thing. Because after all, it's Sunday. My lovely tavern wench and I stopped in at Buono Bistro for some dinner and much needed comfort food after the McGregor loss. After looking over the menu, I realized it was splurge or be disappointed. All of entrées that were catching my eye were a minimum of $20. So it was one of those "fuck it, I dominated on those fights last night so let's do it" moments. And thank god I did because my meal was immaculate. I went with the Seafood Milano. Lobster meat, scallops, and shrimp sautéed with shallots, garlic, sweet roasted red peppers, and asparagus tips in a rosa cream sauce over linguini. A meal of damn near perfection. Amble lobster and shrimp. But the sauce.. The sauce was probably the most memorable thing I'll take away from the experience. I have no complaints, except for the parking. It was kind of a bitch to park. M&F rating: 9.5
Home Cooked Sunday Meal
Lowell, MA
Nothing quite helps with the Sunday scaries like a nice home cooked meal and a glass of wine. This classy dish consists of Texas beef brisket, brown beans, Cole slaw, and some corn bread and it tasted as good as it looks. I can only hope my fart's tomorrow smell as good as this meal while it was cooking or else it's going to be a long day for everyone else in M&F HQ tomorrow.
