Dunkirk
July 21 2016
Looks like Christopher Nolan plans to hit us hard next summer. Very hard. I for one am extremely excited for this one. Tom Hardy is in it and you know what? that's good enough for me. I can only assume he's gonna fuckin kill the role. I'd say the over/under on the number of Germans he mows down is around 112. And with Nolan guiding the ship only good things can happen. Nolan going for the war movie is a surprising movie but I think he'll do the battle of Dunkirk justice. Sucks that we gotta wait a year for it but as Evelyn O'Connell would say "patience is a virtue".
Arrival
Nov 11 2016
Another year means another alien movie. Arrival looks to be about 3 main characters, Adams, Renner, and Whitaker. They will inevitably be tasked with saving humanity from the invading aliens. The only real question I have, seeing as this has been done a million different times in Hollywood, is which road they'll take with the aliens. Will they be monsters? Will they look like peple? Mind ontrol? Environment manipulation? You could go a number of ways. And that's why I'm interested everytime. God damnit, how can you not be into liens. Thank you, Giorgios Tsalikis..
31
Oct 21 2016
From the simply heinous mind of Rob Zombie comes the next installment in his Horror library. "31" is about five carnival workers or "carnies" to the layman, who are kidnapped and forced to embark in a game that has only 2 outcomes. Not win or lose, but live or die. They have to last 12 hours while the gang of maniacal, sadistic lunatics try (in ways that I can't wait to see) and kill all of them. Rob Zombie is notorious being being ridiculously over the top with his violence in his movies. There's a level of discomfort when watching his films..sure, they're scary but he takes the angst to a different level. Just a real sick mind but uses it to give us crazy entertainment like I'm sure 31 will be.

Spaceman
Aug 19 2016
Coming very soon to a theater near you, comes a movie that I know I'm gonna absolutely fall in love with. Sure, Josh Duhammel is a stud, but a story as good as Spaceman is deserving of someone who's not gonna botch it. Don't get me wrong, I think hes a perfect fit for romantic comedies and he proved he can star in an action role (Transformers). So although I'm not convinced he'll do it for me, it looks like Duhammel pulled out all the stops for Spaceman. The "mostly" true story of Bill Lee, the former pitcher for the Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos and his turbulent attitude is the focus of this film. From the Executive Producers of White Men Can't Jump and Bull Durham, Spaceman has all the tangibles of being a fantastic Baseball movie. Really looking forward to this one.

The Accountant
(Oct 14 2016 )
Coming in October comes a Thriller starring Boston's own Ben Affleck, 2nd love of my life Anna Kendrick, and the always talented J.K. Simmons. I'm intrigued by this one. Sure it's a great leading cast but I'm a bit worried Affleck's character might get a bit ridiculous. I get he's a math wiz but is he also supposed to be a badass with those sniping skills? Call me crazy but the only time Ben's sold me on a character of his being badass is Doug MacRay and O'Bannion. Time will tell on this one. Lotta potential.

Office Christmas Party
(Dec 9 2016)
A Christmas time comedy that I'm sure will have people talking just from the star power alone. Jennifer Anniston and Olivia Munn together might be too much for old Hutch to handle, but I'm gonna do my damnedest. Add in Jason Bateman and T.J. Miller? I'll see you in December fellas.

The Hurt Business
(Coming Soon)
From the Producers of Bowling for Columbine, Fahreneit 9/11, and Generation Iron comes another eye opening documentary about the scary but exciting life of being in the UFC. The Hurt Business gives an in depth look at just how fucking nuts you have to be to do this for a living. As a fan I couldn't be more into it. Two men competing in hand to hand combat is one of the most if not THE most compelling things to watch. Especially the UFC with all of it's dynamic and contrasting styles that each fighter brings. I for one am really looking forward to this one. Release date to be announced.

Zero Days
July (2016)
In Theatres July 8th in a fascinatingly frightening documentary called “Zero Days”. It’s about a highly advanced computer virus called Stuxnet that the United States and Israel created to incapacitate an Iranian nuclear facility. To sum it up quickly, this virus got out of fucking hand and turned into something way worse than anyone could have anticipated. Pretty much opening up Pandora’s Box to some serious cyber anarchy. As a documentary fanatic, I’ll be seeing this one.

Sully
(September 2016)
Check out the trailer for “Sully” coming out this September. Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring the ever talented Tom Hanks, Sully is the true story of the of the 2009 emergency crash landing in the Hudson River by Captain Chesley Sullenberger. I’ll be honest, I know close to nothing about this event but the trailer has me hooked. Looks almost like a true story version of “Flight” for christ sakes! Sign me up.

Snowden
(September 2016)
Coming out summer 2016 we have Snowden. Directed by Oliver Stone, Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the infamous whistleblower Edward Snowden in what appears to be somewhat of a forced portrayal of the man. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie looks pretty cool and I'm definitely going to see it, but JGL trying to emulate Snowden's voice seems like it could be a bit distracting. Anyways, both a fascinating and relevant story that is sure to cause a buzz. In theaters September 16.

The Magnificent Seven
(Fall 2016)
So they've decided to go ahead and remake the all time classic film The Magnificent Seven. I don't think this is the remake that a film of that timelessness deserves, but with a colorful cast combined with some modern humor and special effects, I'm anticipating a pretty fun movie theater viewing. You honestly can't go wrong with Denzel. Even in his shit movies his character doesn't disappoint. Partner that with what Chris Pratt brings to the table? you have yourselves a Fall blockbuster. Hoping for the best with this movie, but overall I don't think it comes close to the original.

HBO Drops Trailer for Vice Principals
HBO dropped a trailer for a new comedy series that will be coming out in July called Vice Principals. I’m excited for this. When Danny McBride is involved more often than not you’re gonna get something good out of it. He was absolutely electric in his previous HBO role of Kenny Powers. So I’m expecting big things out of him here. Walton Goggins who you may know from Justified has tended to migrate towards more serious roles during his career but also possesses the range to pull of comedic roles. A few examples that come to mind are Shanghai Noon and Major League: Back to the Minors. Because of that I’m not worried about his ability to be funny so the two should play off each other nicely.
It’s always refreshing to see HBO push out a new series. They are head and shoulders the best network on television..it’s not even close. You’re gonna get minimal censorship which for a comedy is huge. Anyways, comes out in July and M&F is looking forward to it. Enjoy the Trailer.

Captain America: Civil War Trailer 2
April 13, 2016
So yesterday fellow M&F blogger, Hutch, posted the first Captain America: Civil War trailer. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!! Today Marvel has released the second trailer for the much anticipated Captain America film, and to be honest, I could not care less. Unlike Hutch, I am not much of a Marvel fan. Yeah, they are action packed and entertaining, but they are also extremely repetitive- they're friends, something comes between them so they fight each other, then a common villain brings them back together. Throw is a few cheesy one liners and you got yourself a Marvel film. And you know none of the Avengers are going to die because then Marvel won't be able to come out with Captain America 12: Your Still Entertained By This? fifteen years from now.
So call me a film snob, call me a douche, but I need a little more back story and character development in my films. Aside from the fact that none of the Avengers are going to die, I could care less if they did die, I feel no connection with them. When they killed off Quick Silver (had to ask about what his name was) in the last Avengers film was that suppose to be a big deal? They'll probably bring him back to life like three movies from now anyways. They'll bring in a new actor and make a new franchise out of him.
Action in films is like drugs, it is good in moderation but if you are constantly on them you will become dull to them. I have become dull to the action in Marvel films because thats all they have.

Captain America: Civil War
March 8, 2016
So this trailer came out a little while ago but every now and then I get pretty giddy about it. I have to admit, when the first Captain America movie came out I wasn't into it at all. Normally I'm all about superhero movies and anything that's gonna be action packed because well hey, I'm an extreme guy. But when Winter Soldier came out I randomly watched it one day and was blown away. Maybe the best super hero movie I've seen yet. And now they come back even harder with Civil War. I'm expecting huge things which makes me nervous. Setting myself up for disappointment is a pasttime of mine. But with this one I think I'm gonna be alright. Fuckin Tony and Captain America finally coming to blows after a few movies of animosity. Theres so much to say about the trailer so I won't even try and touch on it. Comes out May 6, 2016
