Mike's Restaurant
Somerville, MA
Getting the weekend started on the right foot at Mikes in Davis Square, love it when they open the windows up. Great burger, great beer selection (Brooklyn IPA pictured), great people watching location, but chips as a side? Grow up Mike.

Bahama Breeze
Nashua, NH
This was my first time ever inside the exclusive Bahama Breeze Restaraunt. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m so happy that I waited out so long. Because over the weekend I was blessed enough to have an DELICIOUS meal when I was anticipating a mediocre meal.
First off, the environment is awesome. The Caribbean feel is something I’m into and it’s a culture I respect. My Tavern Wench and I went during the afternoon so there were a few little kids balling their eyes out. And you know what? Didn’t bother me at all because of all the open room in the restaurant. It’s little things like that that can get you into Hutch’s Hall of Fame. I look forward to checking this place out once the warmer weather hits too as it offers ample outdoor seating. And boy do I love outdoor seating on a warm sunny Bahama day.
As for the food. The menu was fan-fucking-tastic. I think I was on page 4 and it was still all cocktails. I felt like a little kid I was so excited. When I finally waded my way through all the yummy concoctions and got to the food, I pitched a pants tent, I’m not gonna lie. From beginning to end the menu was filled with worthy candidates to be devoured by me. I was juggling four different plates before I finally made my order. I decided to go seafood and pasta because I had a decent amount of beef the day before. Gotta keep the body guessing, it's the only way to get better. I went with the Lobster and Shrimp Linguini. Large chunks of Lobster with sauteed mushrooms and shrimp doused in a Lobster brandy cream sauce. Washed down by a dark and Stormy, it made for a near perfect lunch..

I started my morning off by stuffing my face, so I thought it was my fitting that I ended my day by doing the exact same thing. Because after all, it's Sunday. My lovely tavern wench and I stopped in at Buono Bistro for some dinner and much needed comfort food after the McGregor loss. After looking over the menu, I realized it was splurge or be disappointed. All of entrées that were catching my eye were a minimum of $20. So it was one of those "fuck it, I dominated on those fights last night so let's do it" moments. And thank god I did because my meal was immaculate. I went with the Seafood Milano. Lobster meat, scallops, and shrimp sautéed with shallots, garlic, sweet roasted red peppers, and asparagus tips in a rosa cream sauce over linguini. A meal of damn near perfection. Amble lobster and shrimp. But the sauce.. The sauce was probably the most memorable thing I'll take away from the experience. I have no complaints, except for the parking. It was kind of a bitch to park. M&F rating: 9.5

Is it Friday yet? Today's #featuredlunch is from Port City Sandwich Co. a hidden gem in Downtown Newburyport, MA. Pictured is one of their renowned specialty wraps, the "Patrick Chung" Jamaican Jerk Wrap, named after Patriots Safety Patrick Chung. It's comprised of grilled Jamaican jerk spiced chicken strips with red peppers, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing. If you're really feeling like an asshole you can even upgrade to the SUPER JERK for a few extra dollars. This is one of the best sandwich shops on the north shore and their resume speaks for itself. ▪️M&F Rating: 9.2
1981 Ramen Bar
Lowell, MA

Movies and Food was invited down to the soft opening of '1981 Ramen Bar' last week. This place was mobbed for a soft opening. Located in lovely Downtown Lowell, MA, it is one of a kind. The menu is simple, giving a unique twist on classic Asian dishes including ramen, baos, wings & tapas. We tried out the Sweet & Spicy Wings, Steamed Boa's & Tonkotsu Ramen. All three items delivered. The Steamed Boa's (pictured right) stole the show. A "boa" (rhymes with wow) is a type of steamed bun, similar to a dumpling, typically filled with an assortment of ingredients. These particular ones were stuffed with koji crispy chicken, pickled veggies, & a thai aoli that added a little kick. Put simply, these things will change your life. I had to restrain myself from getting second order. The Tonkotsu Ramen was authentic as it comes. Served in a massive bed of noodles it features a 48 hour pork broth & confit pork belly that was super tender. This place gets the #MoviesandFood stamp of approval! They will be doing test kitchens over the next week from 5-9 pm leading up the their Grand Opening. Make sure you stop in! ▪️M&F Rating: 9.2
