Spring has sprung but I'm not leaving the couch cause once the calendar changes you know what that means… brackets, buzzer beaters, betting and booze baby! I'll tell ya, with the debacle that was Selection Sunday last night and with March Madness kicking off later this week, MoviesandFood is delving into the wide world of sports documentaries. We'll be taking on and ranking ESPN's critically acclaimed sports docu-series, '30 for 30', in a bracket style face-off. Will Ricky Williams and Chris Herron be sober enough to show up? Will Chris Weber and Tonya Harding have a shot at redemption? Will the Bad Boys of Detroit have enough fight to sneak into the Elite Eight? In the words of the great Jim Valvano: "Survive and Advance" baby!
The MoviesandFood Elite Eight kicks off this Thursday. With a field over fifty documentaries to sift through and only eight slots to fill, this was not an easy task. But that is what we do here at MoviesandFood. We make the tough decisions when no one else can. There will be controversy. There will be sweat. There will be tears. Who is on the bubble? Who is this year's Cinderella? Who will ultimately cut down the nets and claim a spot in the M&F rafters as the greatest 30 for 30 of all time? Tune in Thursday for tip off!
