BILLERICA (CBS) – A Chipotle in Billerica has been shut down temporarily after an employee was diagnosed with norovirus and two others reported similar symptoms
So turns out people at Chipotle are still getting sick and i could not be happier about it because I've been anti-Chipotle since day one. People will call me a hater for this, and trust me, I've already been labelled a hater multiple times having this conversation, but I'm really not. I have no problem with Chipotle because I love burritos. Burrito's are quite possibly my second favorite food right behind a big plate of nachos (check that, good sausage sub is number two, burrito three) but a couple years back people started acting like Chipotle was the only place on Earth you could get a goddamn burrito, and this is where my animosity comes in. All of a sudden Chipotle became synonymous with burrito. It branded burritos, and anyone who knows me knows I fuckin' hate brands! People started eating Chipotle just so they could fit in and have something to talk about, "OMG I love Chipotle!" , "OMG I would die if I didn't have Chipotle right now!", funny because its the Chipotle thats got you keeling over now... I even saw a few girls beat anorexia just so they didn't feel left out. I guess I can't knock Chipotle for that.
There are plenty of other mexican food places that have as good, if not better, burritos than Chipotle. Yeah thats right, I said MEXICAN FOOD. I can't stand Chipotle's modern dining. I feel like people now forget that the burrito is mexican. Chipotle has their goddamn modern vibe on the inside making everyone sit on stupid little stools while they eat. The stools in Chipotle don't even have backs to them! When I eat my burritos I want to be nice and comfortable sitting in a booth wearing sweats. I don't want to be sitting next to some hipster douche making love to his "Chipotle". I want a mexican vibe. I want free chips and salsa, I want mexican music, maybe a Dos Equis, and I want to enjoy my burrito in peace. Is that too much to ask for?
I can name plenty of other places that have burrito's just as good as Chipotle as well. Anas Tequiria in Davis Square Somerville, MA blows Chipotle out of the water. Julio's in Montpelier, VT is better. Moe's isn't quite as good as Chipotle but it's close and they at least give out free chips and salsa. Whole Foods as a burrito bar the rivals Chipotle for Christ sake. There is a boutique Mexican restaurant in just about every town as well that serves better burrito's than Chipotle, my favorite being the Mambo Grill in Lowell, MA that unfortunately went out of business a few years ago. Hands down the best mexican place in the world, but I guess that shouldn't be a surprise being in Lowell and all. Chipotle just somehow brainwashed everyone into thinking that they were the only ones that serve burrito's. I pretty sure 50% of Americans now think that Chipotle invented the burrito. And don't even get me started on the guac, "do I want extra guac? YES!!" Shut the fuck up!
So thats my rant. I don't hate Chipotle and just hate how people act towards it. I already suspected everyone was brainwashed by Chipotle but people still eating it after this norovirus shit just confirms my theory.
