(Brewbound)- Rotation nation is alive and well. Popular craft-centric chain Yard House, which operates 63 restaurants across the U.S. and boasts an average of 130 tap handles per location, this week announced plans to evolve its beer program by adding nearly 1,600 new draft offerings. Beginning March 28, The California-based on-premise retailer, which recently completed its annual “beer review,” said it would tap an average of 20 to 30 new beers per restaurant.
Cheers to new beers! Beer snobs rejoice, starting this week on March 28th Yard House is adding 1,600 new craft beers to their already extensive lineup. This is easily one of my favorite bar/restaurants to frequent and it slid up the power rankings in a big, big way. Nothing beats sucking back a few Yard Sticks while being completely overwhelmed with endless beer options. Yard House was the place where my infatuation with beer began. I've always sort of looked at Yard House as a "Gateway Bar". Staring at 130 craft beer taps is intimidating, so much so that it forces you to step outside your comfort zone and discover world outside of Blue Moon.

One of the knocks on Yard House was their lack of support for the local beer scene, but that looks to be changing. The beer experts at Yard House completed their annual Beer Review, and all signs point Yard House adding a local twist to their beer menu:
"Local brews played a pivotal role in this year’s Beer Review. Said Greg Howard, beverage manager at Yard House. "There was a huge call for us to focus on local brews, and I believe our team answered that call. What you’ll find is a much more interesting and defined beer menu with each location having its own distinct list of the best local, regional and imported brands available.”
...Slight chance you can find me there this weekend.
