It's Monday, it's shitty out, and your boy Hutch has been scratching and clawing to do as close to nothing as humanly possible while in the cube. We all know the feeling. This day/week just needs end. Luckily Monday has one hidden gem to offer, the SleeperMovie. This week for SleeperMovie Monday we dive back into the world of documentaries. WarTorn: 1861-2010 is an HBO Documentary from 2010 that I recently gave a watch this weekend. PTSD has been called soldier’s heart, battle fatigue, shell shock, and many other things throughout the years. Up until quite recently, nobody really understood it or the tremendous effects it has on a soldier. This documentary does a phenomenal job of portraying what a soldier goes through during war no matter what the time period. The weapons and technology may differ, but the horrors of the battlefield that scar soldiers for life are all connected. Through personal accounts of Veterans through the years, Wartorn offers a really unique look at the invisible scars that are left when the “lucky” ones make it home. I was a big fan of this documentary, and I’m not ashamed to admit wiping away a tear or seven during my viewing. Give it a watch and do what you can to spread awareness.
Apologies for the seriousness of this post, I can get pretty sensitive at the end of the day.
